Lord Jesus said, "I will build My church". He is building it and it is His church. We cannot give His church a name of our choice. We can only accept all the ways in which it is referred to in the word of God. No other. The second epistle of John verse 9 mentions something called 'The Doctrine of Christ'. Many Christians have not understood as to what it is. It is not the doctrines that our Lord had taught. It is the doctrine concerning what He is to the church. This doctrine cannot be found in a particular book or chapter or a paragraph or verse. It has to be extracted from the entire word of God. One has to put two and two together to arrive at the conclusion. The 'DOCTRINE OF CHRIST ' is given below humbly, for the reader to contemplate on:
1) church is the KINGDOM OF GOD, and CHRIST is its KING. No man should occupy that office.
2) Church is the BODY OF CHRIST, and CHRIST is its HEAD. No man should occupy that office.
3) Church is the FLOCK OF CHRIST, and CHRIST is its SHEPHERD. No man should occupy that office.
4) Church is the TEMPLE OF GOD, and CHRIST is its CHIEF PRIEST. No man should occupy that office.
If Christians understand this DOCTRINE, Christ will be honored and glorified instead of man. May God help us to understand this spiritual truth. This is written to warn lovingly all those who are robbing Christ of the glory and honor that is due only to Him, and the office of King, Head, Shepherd and Priest that belongs to Him alone.
